Light-Bonded Composite

Composite fillings are one of the most commonly used and current aesthetic dental treatments available. Today, with the development of bonding agents and composite fillings, it is frequently the treatment of choice, not only for the front teeth, but also for the posterior teeth, due to both its resistance to chewing pressure and the aesthetic appearance.

Before starting the treatment, the tooth colour of the patient is determined by looking at the colour scale and then the suitable filling material is prepared. The main advantage of light-bonded composite fillings is that the treatment can usually be completed in one session on the same day and it helps to preserve the appearance of the natural teeth.

Porcelain Fillings (Inlay or Onlay Fillings)

Porcelain fillings are tooth-coloured restorations that can be applied to the chewing surfaces of the posterior teeth. If more than half of the tooth’s chewing surface is damaged by tooth fractures or decay, porcelain fillings may be preferred instead of a filling and coating. Teeth repaired with porcelain fillers have a high percentage of durability and excellent aesthetic compatibility with the natural teeth.

Laminate Veneers (Leaf Porcelain)

Today’s dentistry has highlighted restorative procedures that require significantly less tissue loss than traditional methods. Laminate veneers are prepared with minimal intervention to the teeth or in some cases without any intervention at all. In laminate veneer application, the tooth structure of the patient is examined and suitable plates in accordance with the tooth structure are determined. This method of treatment is very advantageous as filing down or significant reduction of the tooth surface is not necessary. Since laminates are made of reinforced fine porcelain, they are resistant to both abrasion and staining. At the same time, laminate veneers are not affected by staining from tea, coffee and cigarettes, which would usually cause the tooth surface to become discoloured over time in the case of natural teeth.

Laminate veneers provide a perfect fit where the teeth and gums meet. In addition, it is possible to obtain a visible result that closely resembles natural teeth, due to their light transparency.

Patients who prefer this method of treatment are usually people who have discoloration of their teeth due to the overuse of antibiotic or hereditary factors. People with worn, chipped or broken teeth also prefer this method of dental restoration.

With regular and correct oral care, laminate veneers can be used for many years.

Zirconia Crowns

Zirconium is a naturally occurring element and is white in colour. The flexibility and fracture strength of zirconium crowns is approximately 2-3 times higher than that of full ceramic restorations and the presence of a large number of microstructure crystals gives the material its white opaque colour. The most important advantage of zirconium-supported crowns over metal-supported porcelains is that they are naturally white in colour and there is no presence of visible metal reflection in the gum area. Over time, clinical studies have also proven that zirconia crowns are as durable as metal-supported restorations. Due to their aesthetic nature, tissue compatibility in the mouth, durability and also their natural appearance, Zirconia crown restorations are now one of the most popular and preferred treatment options in fixed prosthetic dentistry today.

During the construction of over-implant restorations located towards the visible, anterior (front) area of the mouth, zirconia crowns are also used as a permanent abutment, offering the most aesthetic solution to prevent metal reflection onto the gums.

Emax & Empress Crowns

Emax crowns are generally the preferred aesthetic dentistry application in the case of both the visible teeth at the front of the mouth and also for single crowns. The translucency of Emax crowns is higher than that of zirconium crowns and in cases where Emax crowns have been applied, the resulting aesthetic appearance is considered the closest to that of natural teeth.

Since there is no metal present in Emax crowns, no allergic reactions occur, however, since they do not contain metal, they are generally not recommended for the rear, grinding teeth that require sustained durability.

Emax crowns are prepared and crafted with a special scanner and printer system (CAD-CAM technology) and with regular and effective oral care they can be successfully utilized for many years.

Pink Aesthetics (Gum aesthetics)

Gum aesthetics are important for a flawless smile. For a pleasant smile, the teeth, gums, jaws and lips must all ideally be in harmony with one another. To achieve a pleasant smile, gums must first be healthy, before they can be aesthetically pleasing. Healthy gums should normally be pink in colour and have a surface that is slightly rough. For swollen, reddened or bleeding gums, treatments such as dental calculus cleaning (de-scale and polish), curettage, gingivectomy and other methods, may be required in order to improve overall gum health and appearance.

Gummy Smile Treatment

The term ‘gummy smile’ is defined when 2mm or more of the gums under the upper lip are visible while talking or laughing. Gummy smile is a significant problem that can distort the aesthetics of a patient’s smile.

After determining the factors that cause this condition at our clinic, a solution can be provided by selecting the appropriate treatment method for the patient. Orthodontic, periodontological, jaw surgery and botox are all suitable treatment methods that can be applied in such cases.

Hollywood Smile

A ‘Hollywood Smile’ is an ideal or ‘perfect’ smile that is designed and tailor made specifically for a patient. When determining a truly aesthetic smile, facial features, smile symmetry and the order and colour of the patient’s teeth, lips and gums should all be taken into account. In order to implement this system, photographs of the patient’s face and mouth are transferred to computer environment, according to specified measurements. With the newly developed intraoral scanners, all the teeth and gums of the patient are transferred to a virtual environment with the aid of digital imaging. After the patient’s face and teeth are digitally overlapped into the computer system, personalized teeth are selected and can be simulated onto the patient’s facial image as desired. Before the restoration is produced and with the help of models obtained from the 3D printer, the computer generated design is shown to the patient as a rehearsal fitting with temporary prosthesis material applied to the mouth. In this way, the patient will be able to see a simulation of the finished treatment before starting the process using both the computer generated imaging and as also a physical rehearsal in the mouth itself. For the desired aesthetic smile, good oral health and a natural appearance are prioritized and a treatment plan is created accordingly. Laminate veneers are the most commonly used treatment for the appearance of white, natural teeth and a healthy smile.
