Frequently Asked Questions

Schedules vary according to what type of treatment is being carried out and how many teeth are being treated, but as we have our own fully equipped dental laboratory and a team of highly skilled dental technicians, treatment times can be kept to a minimum, leaving you plenty of time to also enjoy the local area and get the most from your stay in Fethiye.

It is very important that you look after your new teeth/prosthetics and maintain a good standard of oral hygiene with regular brushing in the same way you would look after your own teeth. We at DOC are very dedicated to our patients and offer reliable after care support post treatment. If you should have any issues after your treatment that need to be resolved, we will always do our upmost to assist in any way we can. The internationally recognized brands of implant that we recommend to our patients are highly trusted and come with a lifetime warranty certificate, while dental crowns usually come with a 3 year guarantee.

Our practice is located in Fethiye, which is a pretty harbour town and popular holiday resort located in the south-west of Turkey. The closest airport serving Fethiye and the surrounding area is Dalaman Airport, which has direct flights all through the summer and non-direct flights available via Istanbul out of season from November-March. The transfer time is approx. 45-60 minutes on average. In the winter time, direct flights to Antalya are also available; however the transfer time is around 3 hours by comparison.

We can offer advice and assistance regarding booking suitable flights, but we are unable to book them on behalf of our patients. However, we can indeed include hotel accommodation and airport transfers as a package combined with your dental treatment upon request.

This really depends on what type of treatment is being carried out. Dental implant treatment is always carried out in 2 stages, with a healing period of 3 months in between, so two separate visits to Turkey will be required.

With most cosmetic treatments, such as smile makeovers with zirconia or Emax crowns or laminate veneers, generally, treatment can be completed in a relatively short time-frame of around 5-7 working days, but you will not usually need to be at the clinic on every one of those days. The exact number of appointments can be dependent on how the rehearsal fittings progress and what minor changes or modifications may be needed for an optimal result.

Fethiye is a wonderful and ideally located base for exploring the local region. There is an array of choice as far as day trips, excursions and mini breaks are concerned and that’s all on top of the many local attractions found in Fethiye itself – from paragliding, daily boat trips and Turkish baths to water parks, scuba diving, cable car rides and local historical attractions and museums.

Our practise prides itself on helping patients with dental phobias to overcome their fears by providing clear communication, a friendly welcome and experienced translators for extra support and reassurance, when needed. For patients having extensive surgery or for those with extreme anxiety or phobias, we offer treatment under a general anaesthetic in a private hospital environment. We do not regrettably offer sedation in the chair at the present time.

Our team of highly dedicated and friendly English speaking international patient coordinators will be on hand to assist you every step of the way – from booking an initial consultation or making an enquiry about a specific treatment, to patient registrations, appointment reminders and answering any queries you may have during and after your treatment. On top of this, all our dentists also speak a relatively good level of English.

Our large, modern practice boasts an extensive roof terrace with shaded seating areas and a selection of sun-loungers where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean climate between appointments – for example, if waiting for your temporary crowns to be crafted by our laboratory. Alternatively, with our very central location, you could take a short walk to the nearby market place, local Erasta shopping centre, pretty harbour or famous Fethiye fish market.

We accept most major currencies in cash (Turkish lira, Pounds Sterling, Euros, US Dollars) as well as most major credit and debit cards from both Turkish and international banks. Bank transfers (EFTs) can also be arranged if necessary.

Generally, most patients pay for their treatment as they progress through the treatment schedules. With dental implants, which is carried out in two stages, the implants must be paid for at the time of placement, but the remaining balance for the crowns on top that will be added during stage 2 can be paid for once treatment has been completed in full. Orthodontic treatment usually involves a single deposit payment initially, followed by monthly instalment payments thereafter until the full balance has been paid.
